What exactly is The WORKHORSE? The WORKHORSE is a simple “Plug-in” performance product that upgrades your Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax diesel with up to 100 horsepower and up to 200 ft/lbs torque. It is a real, "stand alone" software controlled digital micro-computer that simply plugs into your factory wiring harness and very precisely manages your fuel delivery based upon the RPM and load you are putting on the engine. The WORKHORSE produces substantial power increases WITHOUT ADDING MORE FUEL to the engine. There are several dynamics in how more power is produced in a diesel engine. Almost every electronic diesel performance chip, module or programmer on the market today produces more horsepower by altering the duration timing of the injection pulse and/or reprogramming the fuel tables in the factory computer... most even claim so on their websites. The longer you hold open the injector the more fuel you are going to add to the engine... period! Chips circumvent factory fuel delivery, turbo boost, and other specifications which will void your factory warranty. The WORKHORSE is state-of-the-art digital microcomputer that precisely regulates fuel injection pressure in order to enhance the atomization and dispersion of injected fuel. Controlling the fuel plume sprayed into the cylinder optimizes the air-fuel mixture making for better more complete combustion of existing fuel. A dealership can not void your warranty just because you have an after market product installed. They can however refuse to pay for a repair under the warranty if it is determined the after market product caused the issue. If a service department sees a pyrometer gauge and exhaust or intake modifications they will most likely assume a "chip" has been installed on the truck, raising questions about your warranty. Most vehicle owners are not aware that they are protected by Magnuson Moss Warranty – Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975 for the installation of after market products. Under this federal law, after market equipment, which improves performance, does not void a vehicle manufacturer's original warranty, unless the warranty clearly and conspicuously states so.
